The Charhar Institute of China and Shanghai Star Film Cultural Industry Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote cultural exchange between Korea and China and to cooperate on the production of the film Shanghai Star.
Under the agreement, both parties will work together to enhance mutual understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries through Shanghai Star, while pursuing various collaborative initiatives aimed at fostering historical and cultural awareness among future generations.
In particular, leveraging its extensive network as a leading public diplomacy think tank, the Charhar Institute will provide expert consultation and support academic and cultural exchange activities to help effectively communicate the film’s historical and cultural significance to audiences in both countries.
Shanghai Star is a film based on the stories of Korean independence activists, including Kim Gu and Yun Bong-gil. The project highlights the historical solidarity between Korea and China and is currently in production.
